From the beginning, College Living Experience students are living independently. They are responsible for understanding and directing their own budget, for keeping their own apartment in order, and for stocking their homes with daily living necessities.

Part of the reason we ask our students to show up a week before class begins is to get acclimated in their new homes and feel comfortable before the daily routine of college sets in.

Whether students have experience, or are learning Independent Living Skills for the first time, they’ll receive as much assistance as they need. We work with each student in setting up a local checking account, overseeing monthly bill payment, being aware consumers, helping with meal planning, laundry, general organization, cleaning, and maintenance.

What happens in the summer?

The College Living Experience is a year-round program. Classes typically run on a semester basis with two 6-week sessions during the summer. Students can choose from many options for the summer, such as; college, study abroad, internships, work experience, vacation, visiting home, or a combination of the above.
