Why did you go into teaching/tutoring?
The human mind is a complex entity, with layers of biology, society, and psychology making each person a unique individual. The task of learning is intricately weaved into the developmental tasks of childhood and adolescence, making it one means by which adaptive change can be fostered.
Why did you choose special education?
There is such a great need for intervention with these students who psychologically experience themselves as being out of sync with so many things around them.
What keeps you motivated?
It can be highly rewarding to see a long-suffering student come to view him or herself as a capable and masterful person.
What is your favorite thing about working at CLE?
Working on a multi-disciplinary team allows for a collaborative work environment where every day is different. Each day offers the opportunity to learn something new from one and any of the talented and motivated members of the staff.
